Hello, I'm an Asian American who is very close to relocating from Sacramento, CA to Albany, NY for a year (job).

I was wondering if there are any local Buddhist churches/temples that I can attend for weekly Sunday Service? The ethnicity of the church does not matter (ie, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Filipino, etc), but it has to be a BUDDHIST Church (ie, I'm not protestant, catholic, etc). Thanks!

Weirdly, Amsterdam, NY is having a surge of East Asian Buddhist temples. They must see something in that city most other people don't see.

I only remember one temple in Amsterdam and I thought it shut down. Are there others?

I believe there are still two in Amsterdam, and one in nearby Auriesville. They've met some hostility from locals, but city officials have really reached out and welcomed them. There was a third in Amsterdam that I think was either shut down due to finances or merged with the other ones.

There's also the Grafton peace pagoda. There's a monk that lives there too!
