Friend moved cross country using PODS, door to door. Was very satisfied and would definitely do it again. If you move via train you have to take the stuff to the train and pick it up.

I never heard of moving by train, but that seems interesting. I have moved a couple of times. I have never used PODS. They seemed expensive compared to your typical moving truck. I have in the past used BUDGET trucks. They seem to be the cheapest to rent. You should be able to find coupon codes online using a google search.

I have a decent system down. I rent the truck. Load all my valuables...tvs, electronics, and keepsakes. Then hire somebody off of craigslist to finish up with all the boxes, and heavy furniture, and repeat the process at my destination city. They don't need to be insured, because they aren't really packing anything of value, because I have spent an hour taking care of the stuff I care about.

Good idea. Have to keep that in mind.
