Hi Everyone!

So, I'm a frequent visitor of LG's Adirondacks, and I absolutely love it up there year round. I would love to relocate up there since it's a different/slower pace of life, not to mention the cost of living and property is more affordable.

I'm in my mid 20's & currently live down in LI and work in NYC. My background is in Communications/Marketing....Is there any kind of a job market upstate NY? What do most people do for a living up there? Where do most people commute to for work?

As much as I want a change in lifestyle, I can't picture myself being able to find work doing what I do elsewhere...I could be wrong, but I'd like to hear from those who live up there to see how people make a living.

Thanks!

The # 1 employement in the Dacks is not tourism, it is Corrections, many State prisons in the Dacks they employ a lot of people. Most young people move out of the area. Its a hard place to make a livingl.

That's why I suggested cities close by. Plattsburgh actually grew in terms of population, as did the Glens Falls metro and Saratoga County this past decade.
