Reading through the few posts about cell phone carrier service in the Albany area from a thread from last year, it sounds like Verizon and then AT&T were the two most reliable coverage in and around Albany.

Has anything changed? Does anyone have great coverage with another carrier or bad coverage with either of Verizon or AT&T? I'm specifically interested in knowing of any coverage issues north of Albany (like Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs, Queensbury).

We have Verizon. We switched from ATT because of the lack of coverage. We live in Saratoga.

We just moved to the area and have AT&T...and you have to be careful. Coverage is good for the most part in downtown and the immediate surrounding areas...but drops off pretty quickly once you get into slightly more rural areas. We had done some house hunting up in the Clifton Park area, and definitely had issues once we got more than a mile or two from the Northway...you can drop from 3-4 bars to 1 bars pretty quickly. Verizon seems to be the more reliable choice.
