I see the "Threat area" on the weather channel and it shows Albany in the HIGH even close to the EXTREME zone.
What exactly could happen up here in the Capital Region?
Best case scenerio?
A bit of rain and some wind but mainly a day to stay inside?
Worst case scenerio?
Really heavy rain with a lot of flash flooding and Tropical storm wind damage?
I think....
I think the Hudson will end up overflowing just a bit.
Maybe some trees branches will be down.
Very little power outages.
Maybe some ponds overflow.
I doubt Lakes up in the Adirondacks will exp. much.
Overall the Adirondacks will be ok.
Some Flood warnings will be posted.
But I think the media is overplaying the whole Albany in the threat zone thing.
A "wait and see" game. Be prepared for the worse and hopefully it won't happen. Thankfully we have a full house generator, well water and have battened down outside furniture, etc.
If you're in an area where power outages are common, do what you would if you knew you'd be without electricity for awhile.
I swear where we are, if somebody sneezes too hard down the road,we lose power so we're planning for it and will be all too happy if it doesn't happen.
I didn't buy any new ice cream yesterday.

Looks like a lot of flooding in certain creeks have happened. Not a ton of wind damage. Just some branches are knocked down. Looks like NYC wasnt hit too hard.
I sure did underestimate how much hard rain we'd get.
Many area roads closed and many areas with historic water levels in rivers and creeks.
After my post up there ^^^ its funny that there are outages all around us and I never lost it
(knock on wood...its not over yet)
This whole part of the state, southern Vermont and north western Mass are getting hammered, water-wise.
I sure hope the power stays on to keep the sump pump running...even though it's coming in faster than its going out
