I drive to Albany and Saratoga Springs a lot as I am from Bennington and when I look online there seems to be a lot of jobs. I am looking for safe towns to live and work in. I don't have a degree and will be moving alone.

What sort of work are you looking for? A lot of commercial development has been popping up in the town of Amsterdam (town, not the city), and with its proximity to the Thruway and Routes 67 and 29, it's in a convenient location for you to get to Albany and Saratoga. Decent housing can be pretty cheap. Despite what you hear on the streets, Amsterdam is a pretty safe area, with only the occasional drug-related crime.

Can you be a little more specific...what type of job are you seeking? housing budget? You might get more responses if you provide a little more information.
