Hello there. I'm moving to Albany from South Florida. I come from a Jewish family and have often engaged in my local Jewish community.

I've tried doing my own research for how the Jewish community is in the Capital district. I'm in my 20's and was curious for some first-hand opinions or anecdotes on what the young Jewish community is like? Big, small, active etc.

Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

I live further up the Northway in Saratoga Springs so not familiar with the Albany scene Below is a link to the Albany Jewish Community Center, perhaps contact them as a place to start?

Just a guess, but the SW quarter/third of Albany still has a Jewish presence and is a generally solid to very nice part of the city. So, I'm thinking that some live that area of the city, which has neighborhoods like Delaware Ave and Pine Hills, with the Center Square(Lark Street) neighborhood not too far away.

I believe that in Schenectady, Niskayuna and some adjacent parts of the city is another area in the metro.

In Troy, around RPI and just south of Downtown appears to have a presence/institutions as well.
