Looking for a nice, inexpensive town in Upstate. I have no racial issues and just need a nice clean town where I can study my online courses and get a part time job.

I don't know if there is any such thing as an "inexpensive town" ANYWHERE anymore. I'm sure some of us could give you information but you haven't told us enough for us to help you. Questions to you. Are you going to have a vehicle for getting to work and for getting around or will you HAVE to depend on public buses? I imagine that you want to rent a place; what is your budget for that--the maximum or the price range? You only want a part time job? Is that going to support you? What's your working background so we can suggest some towns where you might be able to get a similar job; I mean what specific or general kind of work do you do? Would you want to be a restaurant waiter or a bartender, a grocery store clerk, work at a Walmart, a quick stop/gas station clerk, a fast-food worker, a hospital orderly, a cleaning-service worker, work at the nearby gambling casino, or whatever? I only mention those type jobs because they are more apt to hire part-time workers. Do you want to be far away from a large city or close to one; you want a very rural area or a city suburb or LIVE IN a big city?

With the national unemployment rate, it may or may not be easy to find a job. You should search the internet for unemployment rates in Upstate areas which you might consider relocating to.

You said you have no racial issues. I'm not quite sure what that means and you don't have to tell me/us but I can say this. In my opinion here in Syracuse, I believe all of us (white-native Americans-black-oriental-hispanic-whoever else), we all get along pretty well. Not that there aren't ANY problems from time to time--many times those problems are WITHIN one of those groups rather than between different groups. I think we try to treat most everyone decent and don't go out of our way to PROVOKE other people; we try to NOT BE loud-mouth trouble-makers. We don't go looking for trouble by disrespecting other people; I think that's important. I don't think we would want or like people here who would go around trying to cause trouble. Maybe some other people on the Syracuse City-Data forum can comment, reply to you also. You can also ask your relocation question directly on the Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, & Albany City-Data forums<<more people will reply to you on those city forums (I think general New York State forum is not specific enough to receive replies). If you have more questions to ask ME, please put them on the Syracuse forum because I don't look at the New York State forum very much. Good luck to you.
