UBI of $1,000 a month?
Medicare for all?
VATs on businesses?
Is that $1,000 per month going to help people pay for increased prices on products or services which will have a VAT?
Is that $1,000 per month going to supplement those things which Medicare for All doesn't pay for, or covers minimally?
He might have been born in Schenectady, but I don't think he has ties here as his family moved out when he was young. I agree with some of his points--technology is what's making a lot of well-paid blue collar jobs disappear and no amount of cheerleading for coal is going to change that. He's an interesting guy. However, I don't see much that appeals to me as a candidate. I don't think a total lack of political experience is an asset. I'd vote for him if he were the Democratic candidate, but he's not my choice for the nomination.

Think of UBI as a tax cut. Its a $12k per year tax cut. This should appeal to Dems and Repubs alike. I know I pay way more than $1k a month in taxes, and I'd like some of that money back, so I can pump it back into the economy.
Feel like Andrew Yang is like Bloomberg. Another wealthy liberal business man who only supports special interests and leaves out all the rest while insisting its either his way or the highway. Not from the capital region, but I actually live in upstate NY where Yang actually lives downstate big time.

This is where I am confused. If a person receives this $12K on top of their current income, would they be reporting regular income + $12,000 on their federal and state tax returns? (We know Cuomo can't wait to wet his beak.)

No the $12k is tax free, it doesn't count as income
