I am new to Albany. Subletting from someone for the month of January and February. I live in the Arbor Hill area. Planning on moving, don't know where yet.
As stated, I am new and I love to play basketball. So my question is, where Albany (or surrounding areas) can I play indoor basketball. I saw the city recreational centers but that seems like its for children and then the YMCA is $100 to join and $50 a month.
I am accustomed to finding a gym that's located in a church, or some schools are open to the communities that's free.
So if anyone can recommend a place to play indoor basketball (even if I have to pay), it would greatly be appreciated.

Besides actually joining a gym, what about calling the local schools (high schools, colleges) to see if there is open gym time? In Schenectady, as part of the continuing ed program there is a gym group for men over 30, they play various indoor sports, maybe Albany has something similiar. Normally all continuing ed programs are open to non-residents but maybe for a higher fee. So check out surrounding cities/towns.
Steuben Athletic Club -I found some reviews talking about pick up basketball games. Check out the link: Steuben Athletic Club - Albany, NY
