Driving with kids for about a 3 hour trip and would like to do some fun sight seeing. I once saw a pedestrian bridge that you could sight see on, it appears to look over the Hudson River?? Wouldn't even mind stopping in a small city/town that is fun to explore to have lunch in. We are heading up to Ma so we will not be going past Albany. Thanks

I did some research and the bridge is the RR bridge by Poughkeepsie, I think we will stop there. Any other suggestions on things or places to see in this area?

I haven't been across the RR Bridge yet , but i heard the view on a clear day is amazing , as for other attractions there really isn't much. Although there might be more off the Taconic Parkway , which cuts through some state parks and historic towns and meets up with I-90 near Albany.

There is a small children's museum in Poughkeepsie.

If you take the Taconic you could check out Rhienbeck, which is nice. I don't know about this weather, but the Aerodrome is a fun place to take kids, if they have the planes on the ground to look at. You could stop in Saugerties, which is close enough to Woodstock to have the "hippy" vibe if you go to the right place - I have not been there in quite some time though, can't vouch for it.
