Can anyone recommend a nice play to stay in Saratoga Springs? We'll be passing through in early August and trying to find a nice hotel for a couple nights.
It doesn't have to be exactly IN Saratoga Springs, but within a 15 mile radius.
Thanks in advance.

Can't recommend any specific places but we lived in the area for a couple of years. I can say that there are some really pretty bed & breakfasts there that you may want to check out! Many of the homes there are the old, victorian style homes and they are beautiful! Good luck and have fun!

Hey, Foma, on that note--what's your view of the nearby towns/villages? E.g., Glens Falls, Warrensburg, etc.?
If someone can't quite afford Saratoga Springs but loves the area and big old houses/quaint old neighborhoods, what's a good second-best?
Thanks!

The Spa is going to be sold out with race fans that week. The best thoroughbred racing in the world will be conducted that week. Is that the reason for your trip? If not you should stop by the racecourse for an exciting day.
You might find a room in town but it will cost you $300+. If you are on a modest budget try the Albany Airport area around 15 miles south of Saratoga on the Northway.

Is it really only 15 miles? Expect about a 30-45MIN drive though from the airport. Or do we just drive really slow?!

Thank you for the information. We'll be visiting a college near Saratoga Springs, and plan on being there August 6 & 7. Is this during the race time?
We'll be driving from Lewisburg, PA up to this area. Is there a 'NICE' area that you'd recommend we stay & explore for a couple days on the way up. I guess it could be anywhere along the route. We dont necessarily have to stay in Saratoga Springs, that is just our destination. We want a safe area, with some neat things to see & do. It looks like the route that google maps has us taking is mostly 84 east and then 87 north. Something along that path would be excellent
We are from California and have never been back east, so this roadtrip is going to be quite an adventure for us. I just want to make sure we stay in safe, nice areas.
Thanks!
