A lot of people have posted they are looking to move to the Saratoga Springs and surrounding suburb area but there are very few mentions of Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake. My husband and I are looking to move to this area with our 2 small children within the next 3-4 months. We are moving from Long Island and have visited a few times and done a lot of research.

To get to my question... Why doesn't anyone talk about or recommend this area or school district?

I have and it is a good school district with good sports programs too. It's located in between Schenectady and Saratoga Springs, with most of it in Saratoga County.

I think people forget about Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake school district because it's small. It's a great area and the schools are terrific. A big portion of Ballston lake addressed homes(West side of exit 10 & 11) actually go to Shenendehowa schools in Clifton Park. Then there's Ballston Spa schools, so Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake gets kind of lost somewhere. I think it gets forgotten because Burnt Hills is a little further away from the Northway.

Anyhow, if you've visited the area and you like it, then I wouldn't be too concerned that you haven't read much about Burnt Hills. These towns are so close together they blend in. Some people who are used to living in Clifton Park and want to stay close, sometimes move to Burnt Hills for their smaller schools.

Good luck on your move.
