Hi everyone,
I am a Single Asian American mom and I live in Orange County NY. I am a certified elem teacher. I am contemplating moving to a county north of here. It is getting very expensive here and I personally do not care for the area. I have one adopted daughter from India and want to move into an area where there will be a somewhat diverse population especially Indians. I want to be welcomed into the community. I will of course also be looking for a teaching job. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Maybe the Schenectady area. It is known for it's Guyanese population and nearby Niskayuna also has a relatively good sized Asian population.

I agree, we're very diverse here in Sch'dy. (I'm also a gay male and very accepted among my neighbors!). There's a lovely Indian family that actually lives down the street from us. Good luck with your decision!
