How Late Does CDTA Run? (Albany, Schenectady: college, centers, buses)

I have a very simple question about public transportation. I'd like to know how late do the buses/trains run in Albany? When is the cut off point for most buses/trains to stop running. Does one basically need a car to get around Albany? I'm hoping they at least run up to 2AM. Thanks in advance for any responses.

I'd love to give you a definitive answer, but unfortunately this ALL depends on the route and what day it is. http://www.cdta.org/riding/maps_schedules.php (broken link) will give you full schedules for all CDTA routes. The absolute latest time you could find yourself riding on a CDTA bus is about 2am, when the last #55 (the most popular route in the system) pulls into Washington & State in Downtown Schenectady.

My advice would be to use Google Transit or the CDTA trip planner on their website to plan out your nights well in advance - this way you don't find yourself without a ride in the middle of the night.

As for trains - there is no local or commuter rail presence if that's what you're talking about. You could catch an Amtrak from Albany-Rensselaer to Schenectady for $20! ;-)

Yeah the only bus even operating is route #55 it's the route alot of people take as for others probably the route #22 until 12am but cdta is doing a service change for it's Schenectady routes so maybe...

Also To answer more of your question there's college routes that run till 2 in the morning so basically what your looking at is routes #55 #22 and COLLEGE ROUTES vary from route #11 or #12
