Hello...looking for second home, moving from Virginia. Have lived in Tucson for over three years in the past and do not want to go to Arizona. My husband suggest New Mexico for less heat, humidity and maybe more green. We will be visiting your great area this September to check things out. We are active early 60's, retired, have three doggies, coming from 3 acres however do not need that but would like .50 acre or more if possible.(swimming pool size and yard for pups Love the southwestern look in homes, price range will be $165 to 240K most likely. Living in a community is ok providing there is some good distance between homes. Love grocery stores other than Walmart, nicer dining and coffee shops. We have been living in a very rural town and have quite a drive to shop, oh need golf course. One last concern would be the wind and dust...my husband was concerned about that. Any info would be appreciated thank you!

Howdy. Can't help directly ... but I posted a question about the spring winds and got a lot of good information. The thread is just a little below this one ... entitled "Spring winds." by Aggie. (Hum ... that reads a little smart a** ... I do not mean it that way at all) . Take care.

It is real windy March to end May. This is a high desert. The things you don't like about AZ may be the same as Alb. Cannot escape the wind in Spring. Try Corrales or Bernalillo.
