We've had some of that already across various threads.
Best
affordable housing
wide choice of housing
Weather
Natural beauty of the high desert
friendly people
Hispanic and Native American influences in the culture
tons of golf!
laid back attitude
all the possibilities for hiking
spiritual diversity
haven for the arts
Worst
not a lot for singles for 35 and up
lack of amenities (extensive public transportion, shopping)
not a lot of high paying jobs
quality of public education
drunk driving
But overall I'd say the positives far outweigh the negatives.
bear in mind these are my own personal biased preferences
BEST:
lovely scenery
inexpensive to live here, can rent apt for $500 month
close drive (3 to 4 hours) to many beautiful places to visit, camp, wilderness
easy to get away from CROWDS
moderate weather, snow melts quickly (usually)
easy to get around city after living in worse transportation cities like Seattle and San Francisco Bay Area
WORST:
drivers
high cost auto insurance
hard to find good Thai food, Chinese food, dim sum
not much Asian or African-American culture, I miss that
my kids are far away (probably won't be a big factor for you)
1. The people. They are so friendly and polite.
2. The cost of housing. Although our house is much smaller than most of the houses we see, we are happy with what we could buy at an affordable price.
3. Love the malls, the stores, the restaurants. Everything is close by. And new, clean and bright!
4. We enjoy the weather and the four seasons here.
5. It was easy to find Doctors and Specialists here. It takes awhile for your first appointment, but once you are a patient there is no problem.
6. Oh, and once again - how friendly the people are.
The worst part:
1. Not enough left turn signals to go into businesses.
2. It is a little colder than we expected.
3. Have not been able to find any pharmacies that deliver.
4. There are not enough libraries close to where we live.
All in all, we are very happy with our decision to move here.

I'm not touchy. I'm just curious what makes it boring to you. You were not able to actually identify it, however. You basically said that you know boring when you see it and it's here. I don't have a problem with that, I was just curious what it was. Therefore, I'm still curious.
