I was just offered a job in ABQ and I will be starting in Nov and working at the Airport. I am looking to rent an apartment someplace in a great location with a great view. If possible, I would like to stay somewhat close to the airport- no more then a 20, or 30 minute drive. Can anybody recommend an apartment complex that is upscale with a nice mountain view?

In that part of town you won't find anything High End but look into the ''Pearl at Springcreek Apts'' at Gibson Blvd and San Pedro Ave.

Will you be working normal 8-5 or shifts? You said you'd be willing to drive up to 30 minutes, if that's true, it actually gives you a HUGE area to pick from. By "view", do you mean mountain view, city night view, nice landscaping outside your window, or what?

The Enclave (Osuna and Eubank) is super nice, and it might be about 20-30 minutes.

Default Warren Apt Properties

Are you familiar with them - in particular, maybe, the Indian School location? I'll take all info, though. Not in town yet so I can't go look. I've seen them from the outside, and I'm not expecting a palace. Are they doable for, say, a month? Thanks!

I wouldn't even think about moving to a Warren-run apartment complex!!! I had a friend who lived there over a decade ago. What a dump! Rule of Thumb: anything in this town with "Warren" attached to it is probably going to get you the worst ghetto apartments in town.

I would seriously consider going somewhere - anywhere else but a Warren apartment.

The rule of thumb with Warren apts is that most renters are "passing thru" and need reasonably priced accommodations. There are a lot of first time renters, just out of school.
You wont have bullets flying through the air but don't think about owning high end stuff while you live there.

I had a friend who lived in a Warren prop temporarily some years back. It was walking distance to her temporary job on base. We laugh about it now but someone threw a milk crate at her as she was walking to work.

I have never personally seen the inside of one but I would go armed with roach spray and bleach, and like someone else said, keep an eye on your personal property.
