The Aquarium/Botanical Gardens is a nice afternoon. Old Town & The Albuquerque Art Museum are near those as well. Church St. Cafe in Old Town is a great New Mexican restaurant for lunch.
Take the Tram, Drive up to Sandia Peak (time and weather permitting), the zoo, Walk around Old Town.
A new one I am adding to my list, Drive, bicycle, jog or walk from one end of Central Avenue to the other end. I walked it in pieces with my dog 10 years ago...
Definitely stroll through Old Town, and while you're there have lunch at High Noon restaurant - great food in wonderfully atmospheric old adobe house, with free parking lot just off Mountain Ave.
My wife and I had one day in ABQ back in October. Arrived into town at around 7pm on a Sunday night and had ridiculously good and enormous food at Sadie's. Passed out. Woke up early to walk and gawk at the prarie dogs along Tramway then drove up to Sandia Crest. Spent a few hours running around the woods and drooling at the views. Made it to Sunport for a 6pm flight. Can't wait to come back...
Wow, thanks for all of the suggestions! I'm almost overwhelmed with choice.
If you had to pick your ONE favorite thing, what would it be?
Also, I found online a map for a walking tour from Old Town to Uptown (I think I got that right...). Does that sound like a fun/reasonable thing to do?

Old Town to Uptown would be a 7+ mile walk. Probably talking about a tour between Old Town and Down Town.
