I'm transfering job locations hopefully. :-) I'm looking into moving to albuquerue to work in a call center there. It'll be near north valley. I'm trying to find as much information on the areas as I can, specifically searching for an apartment. I'm coming from a very small town. I wanna make sure I don't end up movin into a "ghetto" high crime, poverty, gangs, violence ect. Trying to pick a place to live half way across the country is proving to b a very challenging task. So I'm looking for help. I need a two bedroom apartment. I'm looking to spend no more than 600 a month. Are there apartments there that have utilities included?? What's the average electric bill for a 2br apartment? What areas would be best? Whch ones should I stay away from? Is it cheaper to live there compared to here in pennsylvania.? R there private apartment renters or is it just apartment complexes? And what about credit checks? My credit isn't exactly wonderful. I've always made sure my rent is paid tho so id have a good rental reference. But is it terribly difficult to obtain an apartment with not so great credit score?
If you are coming to the new Lowe's call center there will be lots of choices for you nearby or close. $600 per month should get you something. You can look anywhere from where Lowe's will be located going east up to about San Pedro. There are several nice/decent apartments a long San Mateo that will have you within 10 minutes of the call center. Utilities paid included depends on the apartment complex. I have a 2300 sq ft home and my average electric bill is about $150 per month. Obviously in the summer they are higher and in the winter the electric bill is lower. My wife and son are also home all day which adds to my electric bill vs. a single person that can lower/shut down their AC while not home. A good friend of mine has a 2 bedroom apartment and he averages $50 per month. Yes there are both private and large complexes.
According to city data the COL of Slatington, PA is 100.7 (US Average is 100), Albuquerque is 93.9, so it looks like it will be cheaper overall to live in Albuquerque. Yes, most landlords do credit checks, but IMHO they are more interested in your past rental history, especially in the per month rentals you are looking for. I don't think you'll have a problem finding something to rent that is decent.
Thankyou so much for the information, I truely appreciate it.
