I will be flying in to the ABQ airport and then will have about 3 hours to kill before my husband's flight lands. I figured I would drive to Old Town as I have never been there before, and see a few things, rather than just sitting in the airport. Any suggestions on what to see or do in old town? This will be on Friday morning.
You can see all of Old Town and have a leisurely meal in one of the nice restaurants down there all within 3 hours. Just admire the architecture, the quaint spaces, visit the adjacent Museum (I highly recommend the history of Albuquerque section if you don't know the area), and shop for souvenirs (mostly generic southwestern knick-knacks and t-shirts).
Sounds like fun! My favorite Old Town shops include Vintage Cowgirl (3 Church St), Fiber Chicks (a yarn store, if you knit? 206 1/2 San Felipe St NW), and the Andrews Pueblo Pottery & Art Gallery (303 Romero Street NW). If you have time to eat lunch, our all-time favorite restaurant is High Noon (425 San Felipe St NW) - they have their own parking lot free for customers, and open at 11 am.
All three restaurants are great. My favorite place to shop for gifts is the shop called De Colores. It has an eclectic mix of authentic items and features retablos made by the owner whose name is Roberto. He's known all over the state for his wood carving ability.
Maggie, I read that Mary McCormack gave that to Ferguson when she appeared on his show. She got it while filming In Plain Sight here.
Thank you! I really wondered where or why he'd gotten that thing. Kinda random!
