Good to know for the future. I'm curious though since I am getting nearer that time. I already applied for Medicare online. What is it that brings people to a brick and mortar social security office? I thought you could do most everything online?

I just checked with my wife. I am on Medicare. My wife did all the paperwork. She did it all online. She said apply online three months before your 65th birthday.

I see the Social Security office because I drive by on my way to Home Depot (Jager Way, Rio Rancho).

I go to the office. I like to see a face and get a name of somebody so I can follow up if I need to. I don't deal with them often enough to do my business over the internet and assume it is done right.

I did apply Medicare online and followed a couple weeks later with a phone call. They said the paperwork is being processed. I guess the next thing will be something that comes by mail as near as I can tell.
