Wife and I are thinking of relocating to Rio Rancho. We're looking for a subdivision with the following requirements:

- proximity to walking/hiking trails. Preferably trails within subdivision.
- safe (walking the dog at 9pm shouldn't be a concern)
- 10min drive to a major grocer/restaurants
- newer community/homes <350k, families + children
- prefer smaller front and back yards
- sidewalks on both sides of road

After some research, it looks like Milagro Mesa, Solcito and Broadmoor Heights might be a match. Any advice or recommendation is appreciated.

I just noticed that nobody responded to you. I have friends in River's Edge that like it there. I'm not familiar with the places you mentioned. I live out in a sparsely developed area...only one close neighbor.
Maybe someone knows more???

Thanks for replying. We visited River's edge as well. Nice community!
Yes, was hoping for more inputs from the helpful Rio Rancho community...

We have lived in Rio Rancho for 21 years, in the Rivers Edge 1 neighborhood. We are a short walk to a trail north and south and adjacent to Corrales. These are not "Newer" homes and ironically do not normally have have sidewalks on both sides of road (There may be some exceptions). We have major grocer/restaurants nearby.

We have other family members in the greater area...

Thanks for the input. We did visit River's Edge 1,2,3. It's a very nice community and we liked the intra-subdivision trails near to the Rio Grande.

Any concerns with safety in the area?
