I woke up at one point last night, and thought I was hearing singing. When I took my earplugs out and stood near the window, it sounded like a motorcycle zooming around in the distance. But later something came buzzing overhead at extremely high speed. I didn't see it, but I heard it. It didn't sound the way the jets from Kirtland typically sound (and they don't normally fly in the middle of the night). Maybe it was a drone or other type of aerial vehicle. I still don't know for sure if the sound I heard in the distance was from the same source as the sound I later heard buzz by overhead. However, one thing I noticed from the sound that I thought was a very loud motorcycle was that it was continuous. It never seemed to have to stop. That might be possible to do for a while in the middle of the night, but it's hard to see how it could just keep going non-stop for as long as it did. At some point I would think it would run into some sort of traffic.
It did not sound like wind either. I gather we might have had some high winds overnight.
Did anybody else hear anything like this last night? (No, I was not on anything except melatonin.)
I would expect them to have less noisy technology!
Many cities have opted to use camera-equipped drones, a little bigger than a dinner plate, for surveillance purposes. Much quieter, much less expensive.
A couple of nights recently I heard what sounded like two small planes flying very low overhead in quick succession, between 10 and 11:00. Very strange. I wouldn't think a drone could make that much noise. Maybe our local population of street racers are starting to take to the air?

I think I found the culprits-- I saw two kids on their little motorbikes riding up and down a nearby concrete arroyo, the sound could have been mistaken for small planes from a distance.
