Drillers aren't going to drill, permits or no permits, if they're uncertain about government hostility preventing the oil from getting to refineries or export terminals.

I can tell you that in my area gas station owners are doing NOTHING to help out the little guy. 30 miles away gas is 3.99.. Locally here, it's 4.39 and they will NOT go any lower. I even saw one station go up to 4.43 overnight last night.

I know I'm just one guy, but I parked my truck today and will be golf carting it to work everyday this week, even though it's a crappy slow and old golf cart and it's a PITA to get it there, I don't care. I salute the gas station owners with a one finger salute.. it's just straight up greed at this point.

The spot market has moved in a manner that virtually bakes in the cake a $.30 to $.40 jump. In our area some are still dropping but one went from $4.49 to $4.59. But unless the spot market reverses course by midweek further increases are inevitable. Link to spot market trends.

The bus system in Albuquerque is free. BTW.

Cost of gas in Europe much higher than US. In Spain, the middle of the pack, it's now $7.46/gal. At the high end, Netherlands, $9.78.

I saw gas for $3.89 and $3.99 in ABQ yesterday. I noticed, that you can get gas about 20-25 cents cheaper in ABQ and Santa Fe than at the famous "Rez gas" stations at Santo Domingo and San Felipe. You just have to shop around a little to find the lower prices, but it's not hard.

The spot market has dropped $0.20 this past day. My prophecy may not come true. May spot unleaded, New York harbor is down from $3.39 to $3.18 as of right now. That translates into a street price of about $4.40, about where we are now locally. Range at non-Costco stations is about $4.09 to $4.59.

Cheapest in town IMO are the two stations on Unser and Ladera. One's a Walmart the other Circle K. Both running about $3.88
