Btw, I'm starting to hear undertones of the breakfast burrito kind. Another poll may be in the future if it hasn't been done before.
I am sure there has been (like 9 of them...and I am sure I started 4 of them ) but what the hell, I think I may give it a go here, even though I am sure I will leave out about 3000 that people will moan about omission-wise, and then call me out on not being a current local (like I need that additional kick to the man parts to remind me!!)...
So while Blake's still has a commanding lead, now amazingly Twister's has soared into 2nd with 5 votes, Griff's has 4, and even Mac's in the game at 3.
Rybert - I had your back on the Bob's thing, man...how can Bob's only be garnering your one vote???! (I voted Blake's, however, really was torn between them, Griff's, and Bob's; I think Bob's does a very solid job!)...
I went to Bob's one time, several years ago. They were one of the only places in ABQ that crossed "French Fries" off their menu and replaced it with "Freedom Fries". I was so offended with a burger joint being political, that I've never gone back.
I was always confused by that place. So is that just like an "extended" Mac's Steak In the Rough?? What is the history on that?
I may be recalling this incorrectly, but my understanding is that Mac's La Sierra was the original "Mac's". But subsequently, the original owners sold or licensed the name out to another party for use with the multiple "fast food" type locations we see throughout the city.
There is some overlap with some menu items, but they are separate entities. Mac's La Sierra is a total greasy spoon, but the food they make there (including their New Mexican) is quite tasty.

Chap
This is very interesting / very good historical read chap - thanks!!
There are a few Blake's down here in Las Cruces. I've never been to one (only been in NM for two weeks now.) Is there a drive-thru or do you have to go in to order? I am hearing that the green chile burger is a must order?
