Because we are looing at jobs at them and want to know how they differ from the regular public schools we have worked at. Plus then we have kids that might end up attending them to.

They probably have rather high academic expectations from teachers.

You've already assumed they are better than the regular school model. You probably aren't going to here differently on this forum.

If I tell you that charter schools are the worst thing on the planet, will that matter to you, or will you continue on the path you've already chosen? I'm going to guess the latter.

If it is on-topic you could tell us why you think so poorly of charter schools -- i.e., give us your evidence for this position? I would be interested in hearing.

For the record -- I was opposed to charter schools myself until I came out here and saw just how bad the public schools were. It is funny for me to see people complaining about the APS when the system seems a gem compared the Pojoaque School system in Santa Fe County.

The charter schools are part of the public school system. Granted, charter schools are allowed to get away with alternative curriculum and/or teaching methods but they are still part of a problematic system. There are some excellent charter elementary schools and middle schools. Not sure about high schools, we really are so many years away from high school that it does not make too much sense to worry about what school we'll be sending our son to in ten years.

I'll continue to complain about APS since I live in Albuquerque, not Pojoaque. I am sure there are worse systems than APS in plenty of locations all across the US. I don't live there. I live here.
