Title says it all. I have this bottle of Columbian Liquor. Seems like it would be great to chill and do shots of, but I was wondering if there are other uses, drinks, or traditions I should be aware of?

It is a typical liquor Colombia, where farmers joined the customs. This drink is to drink alone, with nothing of refreshments can be taken together with fruit or water. Antioquia is a liqueur brandy dry extrapuro alcohol obtained from derivatives of molasses, honey and sugar virgin, with its traditional taste of aniseed.

In Colombia, aguardiente is an anise-flavoured liqueur derived from sugar cane, popular in the Andean region. Each department of Colombia holds the rights to produce it, but aguardiente produced in one region can be sold in another. By adding different amounts of aniseed, different flavours are obtained, leading to extensive marketing and fierce competition between brands. Aguardiente has a 29% alcohol content. Other anise-flavoured liqueurs similar to aguardiente but with a lower alcohol content are also sold. Aguardiente has maintained, since the Spanish era, the status of the most popular alcoholic beverage in the andean regions of Colombia with the notable exception of the Caribbean Region in which the Rum is king. Colombians in the andean regions drink it straight as individual shots and they rarely use it in cocktails.

"Canelazo". Its a warm, very aromatic tea-type of drink with a hind of aguardiente. Here it is: 3 cups of "agua de panela" (unrefined whole sugar cane). to make this you have to boil a small block of sugar cane in water. Next, add 1 1/2 cup of your favorite aguardiente (I recommend aguardiente antioqueño or nectar but without sugar). Then add a tables spoon of fresh lime and a generous amount of cinnamon sticks for that special holiday spice flavor......great for the cold weather. Enjoy!

Drink a fifth straight in the morning before going to work, assuming you use public transportation or walk to work.
