I just want to get feedback on the best tequila on the market. I really like El Patron and EL Mayor, smooth and well balanced. Last night I tasted Cabo Wabo and also is as good or better than El Patron or El Mayor. So if you like tequila which one you like to drink?

One part Sauza Hornitos Reposada, one half part Patron Silver or Blanco, one part Triple sec (best to use a good one like Grand Marnier or Cointraeu) and one part honey infused fresh squeezed key lime juice. Mix in an ice shaker for about 20 seconds. Wipe rim of chilled glasses with a piece of lime and dip in coarse Kosher salt. Dump out any salt from the bottom of glass and pour/strain the cold truth serum into into glass without the ice. Warning this cocktail is deadly drinkable, give your car keys to a sober neighbor for the night ! I am serious.

Normally I don't care for tequila. Too much, once upon a time... but I tried a shot of 1800 a few years ago and it was wonderful, not like tequila at all. Have never tried El Patron.

Tequila comes in three styles; un-aged , "blanco" or "silver".
"Reposado", (rested), or aged in barrels for just a few months, and "anejo" ,(old), aged in barrels for god knows how long ! The longer the more $ !
The more expensive and the older tequilas are more for sipping and showing off than for everyday debauchery. I like a good margarita along with fresh hot chips with grated jack cheese sprinkled on , with guacamole and some really good salsa. Oh don't forget the hot bean dip with this. Yum !
Note; besides the three styles it also comes in two grades, "mixto" and "puro". Always buy 100% agave puro because the others are cut with grain alcohol and will make you puke ! Tequila is mescal. It can only be called "tequila" if it is fermented and distilled in or near Tequila Mexico, and the agave must be grown in the same region also. If not it must be marketed under the name "Mescal", and no it doesn't have an agave worm in the bottom of the bottle unless it's some cheap tourist crap sold in TJ.

Patron Gold - straight. Best tequila I have ever had. Not to be ruined with mixers, honey, or any other hooey - this is the real deal. Good tequila doesn't need enhancements.

Yes the real high $ and especially the real old tequilas should be sipped straight, some like it chilled and some sip it at room temp. But all the common more affordable tequilas can be great if mixed well. Good for everyday debauchery ! Just kidding !
