I'm 65 and have enjoyed 2 oz of alcohol everyday for the last 40 yrs to which my doctor tells me my heart & circulatory system is that of a 20 yr old. But then I stop at my limit of 2 oz everyday too.

Yes, I did get so damn drunk one time about 25 ys ago and was sick for a week from it. Never, ever again have I been that stupid!!! Oh, hell no....never again!!!!!!!!!
I think one weekend at a party @ Chico State back in 1986 I consumed about 2 years worth of the daily 2oz requirement.

It was originally used for medicinal purposes and is sometimes still given to the sick in the UK. I think the main advantage it that it makes you relaxed and sleepy, especially if it's hot.

That's like asking is a Dairy Queen blizzard is good for you.. The chubbies are going to defend how it is good for you and the health nuts will argue how it is bad for you.
Key term is moderation.
