Very interesting, what does it mean though, strongest? Does it mean the most solvent? Hubby's favorite scotch was number 2.

This (article) nearly turned me off when I read, "The recession may be over." What world are they living in?

I thought "strong" when coupled with "liquor" meant most likely to knock you on your ass.

But I didn't see Everclear mentioned in there ...

No article there now?! Hmm, no doubt my favorite "Goldschalgger" is on there, the most awesome cinnamon refreshing drink...with little pieces of gold.

Have not had that stuff in 25 years...the mind is willing, but alas, the body is not.

Its not about strongest by proof, but strongest companies/brands ( established long time ago and still doing great).

Too bad, this article focus mostly on American brands, while:
In 1782 a distillery run by the Baczewski family was founded in Wybranówka, a small suburb of the city of Lwów, Poland. It is recognized as the oldest Polish distillery.

BTW: the strongest alcohol the world is:

New York's State Liquor Authority just approved a 192-proof (96% alcohol) Polish vodka !!!. Spirytus is "incredibly sharp.
"It's like getting punched in the solar plexus."

Nah...! I can drink it, and I am still alive!

http://gawker.com/5567305/192+proof-...est-liquor-yet well, they made a mistake in the link title - its Polish vodka.

but our daughter and son in law lived in Poland for a couple of years. They fell in love with Polish vodka and don't want anything else anymore. Well, they want a lot of other booze, but vodka wise they only drink Polish.
