New Belgium just started selling their beer in West Virginia last week. Many home brew suppliers sell kits to make clone versions of Fat Tire. It is an Amber Ale, a style that I like a lot, so I was curious to try it. I saw it at the grocery store yesterday and bought a 6-pack. I've got to tell you, this is one really fine brew. Smooth taste and incredible clarity. If you like beer, this one is highly recommended. This is not a highly hopped IPA, nor is it a strong black beer like a stout or a porter, nor is it a pale rice based lager like most big brand name American beers. This is one fine craft beer.
A SAVORY Dale's Pale Ale from Oskar Blues Brewery, Lyons, CO.
I've been in St. Louis for four years and the day Oskar Blues began distributing here in 2013 was the happiest day of my life!!!!
There is a very strong craft beer scene in STL (Schlafly, Urban Chestnut, O'Fallon, etc.), detracting discriminating tastes from the swill produced by the soulless Belgian conglomerate.
2012 Noiret from Presque Isle Wine Cellars in North East, Pa.
