Luxardo cherries- Yum!
Hated maraschino cherries since I was a kid, had no idea the good stuff existed until I ordered an Old Fashioned about 10 years ago. Had to ask the bartender where that cherry came from.

Now I always have a jar in my fridge.

I'm a bourbon guy. Here's my recipe for a cocktail while in the pool. Fill a tumbler with ice. Add your fave bourbon, a lot of it. I like to add a touch of Apple Cider whiskey, and a splash of ginger ale. Stir and enjoy.

I’m into Palomas lately. You have to like grapefruit, which I do.

Over ice in a tall glass..
1/4 cup tequila
1/4 cup grapefruit juice
Juice of 1/2 lime
Top off with grapefruit soda, or any citrus soda
Give it a stir

Sazerac

Use just enough Absinthe or Herbsaint to rinse a chilled rocks glass and set the rocks glass aside.

In a mixing glass, add:
1 sugar cube and 1/2 teaspoon cold water OR half ounce Simple Syrup
3 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
2 dashes Angostura bitters

Muddle the sugar cube if it is used. If using Simple Syrup, no need to muddle.

Then add to it:
2 1/2 ounces Rye Whisky
Ice

Stir until chilled. Strain into chilled glass rinsed with Absinthe or Herbsaint.

Twist a lemon peel over the drink and garnish with the peel

A tie - a Moscow Mule or a Cosmopolitan. With Belvedere vodka, preferably.

Another tie!
Depending on the situation, it's between two classics, an Old Fashioned, or a Manhattan, using Rittenhouse Rye in both.

Bourbon and 7up for most occasions.

Black Forest (blended creme de cacao, half and half, frozen bing cherries, vodka) for decadent, extravagant flavor. Invented when my freezer was full of frozen cherries.
