I tried Sam Adams Octoberfest and just didn't like it, but it had been sitting out of fridge for about 20 mins or so.

I don't like Sam Adams Oktoberfest.

Went to one of our local celebrations this weekend, and got Hofbrau Oktoberfest, A bowl of potato-leek soup, some sauerbraten, and red cabbage. The chicken dance might have happened.

We are going this weekend. Crisp fall air, smell of hot, charred brats, cooking on a large grill, German music, thick, rich, dark beer...really, can life get any better? Ah, yes, the homemade appe strudel!

Then the winter ales will be showing up.

Highland Brewing "Cold Mountain Ale" (The ultimate winter ale IMHO)
Sierra Nevada "Celebration Ale"
New Belgium "Snow Day"

and many many more

That's OK. I've got enough Octoberfest stocked up to last until the Spring thaw.
