For Martinis, try the new Tanqueray 10. It's very smooth and has citrusy/juniper notes. For Gin and Tonics I really enjoy Booth's.

Boodles Gin, not available everywhere in the US but worth the search.

I think if I was mixing with something sweet and just wanted that juniper kick I'd go with Gordon's or another decent inexpensive brand. However, I've got to add my voice to the chorus praising Hendrick's --- I was curious and my wife got it for me as a present. It's not cheap, but it is something special. I'm no lush, and I tried to ration it out to a drink or two a week, but I drank it far faster than I would have liked. Great straight, on the rocks, or with tonic and cucumber.

Never understood the attraction of Gin as a "summer" drink. To me, nothing like a cool, crisp, flavor filled gin, waved (as Noel Coward may or may not have said) in the general direction of Italy. Totally refreshing, and goes well w/the scents & smells of the holiday season...

Cheers!
