The champagne thread got me thinking about the time we tried preseco for the first time in Washinton DC. We went to a nice restaurant down the street from the watergate where we were staying. We ordered a bottle and like it so much we ordered another. Between the two of us we drank 2 bottles of preseco. It was sooo good.
More than a couple times, but these days it's hard for me to justify the cost and it's cheaper at home. I don't drink often now but this week alone my daughter and I polished off 2 bottles of champagne one night a 1+ bottles of wine on another. Tis the season
At home, especially when we have company that really enjoy good wine or even bad winewe will go through 3 or 4bottles between 4 of us, but I don't think ever in a restaurant. We will drink a bottle, after ordering a drink . Like so many others, the price is just too high and we are very careful about drinking and driving...

We took a cab back to the hotel that night we drank 2 bottles of proseco. We only order bottles of wine when we go out to eat on vacation which isn't often otherwise we drink it at home. I drink wine maybe once a month.

well we certainly drink it more than once a month, more like once a day, all day, everyday: well, that is a little over the top. Glad you didn't drink and drive; I certainly did my share when I was very young, but today, I would never think of driving if I had more than 2 glasses of wine. I rarely drink anything else. I do enjoy a martini now and then and on Christmas eve had a hot buttered rum, which I used to love. During the summer I might have a gin or vodka tonic once in awhile...
It's easier to drink Prosecco than many other wines because it has a fairly low alcoholic content... about 11%.
By contrast Zinfandels run 17 - 22%, Syrahs 17-23%, so two bottles of Prosecco would be about the same amount of alcohol as one of those.
