After reading some replies I picked up a bottle of swirled marshmallow vodka. I was thinking about putting it in some hot chocolate. Because I was anxious to try it I put it in some Orange/Mango juice. OMG. I usually drink slow BUT this is GOOD!!
Some flavors of vodka (pepper infused, citron infused, etc.) have been around for a long time, other flavors are part of a newer trend (whipped cream, cheesecake, Swedish fish, Fruit Loops, etc.). Outside of a spicy bloody mary, I'm not a huge vodka fan. I have used the whipped cream flavored stuff to spike hot cocoa, but it's not fabulous.
As a "woman over thirty" I can't think of anything much worse than a cake flavored martini.
Seriously. No, thanks. As a woman over thirty, I'll take whiskey neat, or a spicy bloody mary over crappy sugary cocktails, any day. My one foray into sweet cocktails is a lime margarita on the rocks, and even at that rate, I'm more in in it for the salt and sour. Sweet drinks just aren't my thing, and especially things flavored like CAKE. Ugh.
Do they dissolve, do you have to crush them? I am fascinated by this. Is it more menthol-y than peppermint schnapps?
They should just dissolve. I haven't tried making it myself because they sell a commercial version of it here called Fisu so I haven't need to. Its quite different from peppermint schnapps, a broader flavour really.
Add a bag of Fisherman's Friends to a bottle of vodka and create a most delicious drink (serve it from the freezer, its best when its really cold)
