Is there a unanimous, hands downs, smooooth vodka out there?

I'm wondering if there's a label to buy if I am serving straight shots
and want to bring the most pleasant, easy down the hatch bottle to the table?

(Something I can easily find in the packy... )

There is not one that everyone thinks is the best...Chopin is often overlooked....Grey Goose has a following for a reason. I like Absolut in mixed drinks or a classic martini but not just on the rocks. I am sure there are small batch distilleries that are quite good.

Now this is an off the beaten path (unless you are a Costco member)...but the higher end Kirkland vodka is best chilled and straight. I don't like it in most mixed drinks...but it has a slight...what I perceive as sweetness.... that makes it soft and drinkable on its own.

But at the end of the day...it comes down to what you like.

I carefully remove lemon peel away from the pith with a peeler.

Put the peels of a few lemons into a jar and pour Tito's over it, until its covered.

Put on the lid and refrigerate.

Wait about a month or six weeks. During that time intermittently turn jar upside down, gently, then right side up and return back to fridge.

In a month to six weeks (liquor has turned highlighter yellow, and you have teaspoon tested the flavor and its screaming lemon) remove the peels and you have a vibrant yellow lemon infused vodka. Its outstanding.

Makes a nice gift, if your willing to part with it. Keep refrigerated (but it won't last long).

With that on hand you can add a little simple syrup and make Limoncello, kept in the freezer it can be refreshing before/after dinner and useful for lemon flavor when cooking.
