Beer enthusiasts rejoice. A new machine claims to deliver craft brews right in the comfort of your own home.

Introducing Synek, a personal tap system that uses interchangeable bag-in-a-box cartridges --similar to Keurig's coffee cartridges-- to deliver stein after stein of fresh beer.

New home brew system is the Keurig for craft beer | Fox News

This could be good news. Unfortunately Keurig coffee sucks to people who actually appreciate exceptional coffee.

For $300, no thanks. I can turn my fridge into a kegerator for less than that and do at least 5 gallons of homebrew at a time.

Yeah, I read about this a month or so ago, it is a good idea, but a little pricey. I think it will find a niche.

In the end, I'm not really sure what the problem with beer in cans and bottles is. I don't find draft beer significantly better than other packaged beer.

I guess the value comes if your local super micro brewer doesn't bottle or can their beer...or provides beer in these packages cheaper than they do in other packages.

I can't comprehend that this guy think his product will sell. I can think of a LOT of brewing gadgets that I could buy for $300.00. This would not be on my list.

i'm not rejoicing

first off i don't like it when the person trying to sell me stuff has EXTREMELY WIDE OPEN EYES...it's offputting

second, so basically instead of just putting a six pack in the frig and opening up a bottle when i want one, i need to empty the entire six pack (or whatever) into a bag, and then attach that bag into his device and then pour our my "fresh beer" - lol no

even if he sells his own bags we all like our own beers so we'll mostly be unpouring and bagging our beers...no thanks

They should stop calling it a "home brew" system, when there is no brewing involved. It's just a carbonation and distribution system. I can do the same thing by getting a growler filled.

Walmart sells something for $50 and you just buy little kegs for $15 to connect to it. Fits in a fridge. Not sure if its worth it or not. Probably not.

I think the concept is good, but the price is extremely bad. Think a bar that brews its on that you can only buy there on tap. Now you can fill the bag and have it for a month rather than a growler that you have to drink when you open it. You can just keep going back over the course of a month now. It is a great idea imho but id give em $50 for it and thats all.

You can prolong the carbonation in a growler by wrapping the seal really well with electrical tape. It won't keep it fizzy for weeks, but it will last a couple of days.
