I primarily drink Yuengling or Coors Light, but every once in a while I like to change it up. There is a beer distributor nearby where you can mix and match different local microbrews and beers from around the world. I picked up some different varieties to step outside of my comfort zone. I picked up Rauchbier, which tastes to me like beef jerky. Not bad, but I would drink it all the time. I liked the beers brewed with honey, and I liked the hard root beer. There was one that was brewed with jalapeno, I think, but I could barely taste the spice. And sometimes I go for a nice oatmeal stout.

Do people really drink brands? As in strictly stick with one, etc brands?

I always drank according to beer type, but defaulting to specific brands when out at a bar or something and there is a limited selection.

I know there are preferred brands even among the same beer types, but there are what seems dozens and dozens of brands of beer out there, I do not see how anyone can have a selection down to just a few.

Right now I am drinking Great Lakes Brewery and Founders, but last week it was Old Bust Head and Land Shark.

The US Brewers Association states there were 92 breweries in 1980. 2015 there were 4269.
I think a more relevent question to ask today is "What type of beer do you drink?"

IPA's. Once you go hops, simply can't stop(s).

Stone Delicious IPA mostly. I will treat myself to Ballast Points Sculpin occasionally but Stone Delicious is absolutely my go to.

Thanks, went to their site and found it's available in numerous Seattle area stores. I'll be checking it out.

I'm amazed only a dozen souls, myself included, don't drink beer. I figured we'd have more of a wine crowd here. Or cocktails. But I'm new so what do I know. I gave up beer years ago. Now I only drink a couple glasses of wine with dinner once in awhile. Like twice a week maybe. My wife has made me into a budding wine snob. We even have a cellar.

Back in college I drank enough beer for a lifetime. So I guess I got burned out on it.

Haven't had a beer in, probably 5 or more years but spoiled brat does drink Dos Eqis when we have or go out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. When we were in college beer was about the only alcohol we ever drank. it was all we could afford.
