Probably the same as I would if I was paying, vodka and tonic, preferably diet but that rarely is available. Or a skinny pirate (Capt. Morgan and diet coke) if I need some caffeine. Recently, in order to keep our consumption of alcohol down, as others have mentioned drinking over the entire evening can make you drunk, my husband and I have started asking for a "Double, but single shot". It'll take longer to drink, but you're not getting all that alcohol. We do this pretty much every time we have a drink.
i like Sidecars, but many pop-up bars at wedding receptions don't offer cognac-based drinks, so i switch it to a Bourbon Sidecar, or even simpler Bourbon highball or whiskey sour. I don't get sloshed since many receptions are just 2 or 3 hours long nowadays. My parents were commenting on how back in the day, receptions would go on past midnight and by that time the hosts would have to find drivers to ferry drunken guests home.
