That's true for future cases, but drinking water between alcoholic beverages doesn't stop you from puking afterward.

Probably not since alcohol is a toxin in large enough quantities. I guess there are ways to minimize it's effects, mostly by minimizing its consumption.

The best advice is NOT to get drunk.
Yes, it is possible to enjoy having a glass of wine or two and NOT to get drunk.
But some seem to have never heard of that possibility.
Wine is there to be enjoyed - and not there to get drunk as quickly as possible.
