Guess I'm not up to date on hipster beer trends, but I would've thought that hipsters liked good beer, not cheap nasty swill. So apparently it's a good thing to be out of the loop in this case, lol...
Hipsters do like craft beer; but they're often broke from paying those Brooklyn rents so they drink cheaper stuff

Sometimes a young person just can't afford a 12$ 6-pack of a decent craft (some are cheaper if caught on sale or depending on the area) - but a cheap mild lager isn't the worst thing to drink on the planet.
You're in a special class if you've never been young and had to drink cheap.

You can say that again. When I was in college back in the 70's I drank a lot of Old Milwaukee just because it came in 14 oz. bottles rather than 12 oz. In law school I would buy 12 packs of Blatz for $2. It was all about the buzz.

That's funny. Old Mil is something I haven't heard of for a while. In the South, many young people like Miller High Life, which is fine. Bars often sell a High Life with a shot of pretty cheap whiskey. I don't like whiskey very much, myself. I'm more of a wine person. But in WI, I used to drink Huber! (I wonder if people remember that).
