Is there a name for club soda with bitters? (other than the descriptive name)

My son who works at a restaurant insists that my signature drink is so unusual as to raise eyebrows wherever I order it. I can't be the only person who has ever thought of putting Angostura bitters into club soda (at home I use seltzer), can I?

It's my longtime hangover beverage of choice.

I probably wouldn't order it at a TGI Fridays but if a place has even a semi-serious cocktail program I don't think it's a particularly unusual order. When I tended bar I definitely made it for people. Though I'd probably specify Angostura, many places do house-made bitters in different flavors.

Wow- does that bring back memories. My boss in a previous job (1978-1985) would order that at lunch. He wasn't a teetotaler- just didn't drink at lunch. (I still remember meeting him for dinner outside a bar in London; he was holding one of their craft beers, SW1 and SW2, in each hand.)

Now I'm thinking of buying a bottle of Angostura bitters.

I use bitters in my tonic water....left over from my gin n tonic days I guess.
Bitters in club soda will at least add some flavor to what is basically carbonated water.
