It's an acquired taste no doubt..most cases. Probably a good taste to avoid acquiring. But, then again it's a vice so enjoyed by many. Does the fun, enjoyable part outweigh the agony of hangovers???? Debatable!!! Certainly you enjoy the taste ....

I LOVE Sam Adams. For the past 4 years my goal has been to collect a bottle from every beer they make, I have 12 so far. Of the ones I have had my favorite is Cherry Wheat, I love the fruit flavor, just a great beer.

That said I only drink beer. My buddy had me try Wild Turkey one night and that was it. I cannot stand hard liquor, nothing beats a good beer.

I can't stand the taste of wine, and there are maybe 2 or 3 beers that I can tolerate, and even then they must be ice cold.

Liqueurs? There are many that I could drink straight up!

Hard liquor? No, don't care for the taste of them alone, but quite yummy with mixers. Bacardi, most of of their rums, is my favorite. Of course the most delicious thing to put it in is a rum cake!

I do like the taste of most alcohol.
As Vichel said, if I didn't, I wouldn't bother with it.

Not big on the hard stuff, but I can appreciate Scotch, or Irish whiskey.

Probably my favorite taste of all is port, though I hardly every drink it.

Depends on what it is...but most drinks I need to make "sweet" to hide the taste....and I tolerate some I don't like, because I want to "relax" Seriously...no sense in drinking it and taking in the calories if I'm not going to benefit with a bit of stress relief once in awhile. LOL

I absolutely love the taste of high gravity microbrews.
To the point that it is frustrating because with high alcohol
content, comsumption must be limited.
If I didn't like the taste, I wouldn't drink alcohol.
But it seems like every beverage has an "appropriate" set and
setting. Consumed out of that "appropriate" environ, I don't find
any beverage as enjoyable.

I actually like the taste of different wines.... quite a bit. I guess it is an acquired thing because I used to not like it when I was a teenager.

However yea, stuff like peach schnapps (which I haven't had in forever), some mixed drinks such as "cosmopolitans", "sex on the beach"... taste very good.

I cannot even stand to smell beer, let alone drink it. Vodka has a horrible taste by itself, its like inhaling rubbing alcohol.

Honestly I don't like the taste of alcohol but I do enjoy the high. I especially enjoy the high from Tequila. It has a bit of an "upper" to it. Probably to much so I don't drink it much at all now days. I just do not enjoy the taste of any alcohol--from beer, wine to hard liqour. That's not to say I don't enjoy some mixed drinks that do hide the flavor of alcohol.
