I like to keep a liqueur, whiskey or rum around the house to pour a bit over a bowl of vanilla ice cream. Otherwise, I never drink any. I don't care for wine at all, although a sip of dessert wine is OK. I drink two or three beers a week, but I don't count that. If somebody offered me a mixed drink, I'd opt for either rum-and-coke or bourbon-and-seven-up.
So the answer to the question is, Yes, I do like the taste of an alcoholic drink as long as it is sweet.
I detest sweet drinks, the brewed beverages available today made of fruit and flavorings tend to gag me. I LOVE the flavors and the nuances of a well crafted vodka, scotch, bourbon, tequila, or rum.
Don't really like the taste of spirits, but don't hate them either. Usually I mix them with coke. I can't stand beer and most non-sweet wines. Alchoholic Cider is great though.
Most alchohols don't taste particulary good, but I love the effect they have on me, hence why I drink
some of the drunks in NW New Mexico will drink Hairspray, rubbing alcohol and mouthwash and pass out in town or in your car if your doors are unlocked, no kidding.
Everyone's taste buds are different, so we have different preferences. I enjoy a nice dry Chardonay and in the cold of winter I love the warmth of sipping some Harvey's Bristol Creme sherry. Occasionally I will have a mixed drink with Southern Comfort but I do prefer the dry white Chardonay.
If you have to "acquire" a taste then it doesn't taste good.

For me, nothing beats Chardonnay on a hot summer day!
