Why would you drink beer if it "all tastes like crap" ?
With all due respect, don't knock Steel Reserve until you've tried it. I've yet to see a beer posted here that I haven't tried many times (along with more than 500 other brands ... I'm an international beer nut), but I still swear by Steel Reserve for every day drinking. It has a lot of flavor ... not to mention kick ... for a very low price. When compared (by volume and alc. content) to regular U.S. beer, it works out to less than .30 cents per 12 oz. can. Try it, then tell me what you think.

Eh with all due respect who told you I did not try Steele Reserve and where did I knock it ?

1) I have never, and will never buy a beer for the alcohol content.
2) I do not buy beer because it is cheap compared to others.
3) Yes I have tried it and it has got flavour, hence why I never knocked it and would drink it vs Bud
4) I brew my own beer so I am somewhat of a beer nut too but I wouldnt say Beer Nut because I have yet to touch Michael Jackson or Charles Papazian (Sp!) level to be a beer nut.
5) Guinness is my main commercial beer here in the US. Grolsch is second. If I can afford it I will stock up on Chimay and Arrogant Bastard. AB is a fantastic session brew. Outside of that it is homebrew all the way unless I am just hunting down that particular beer that my tongue is lusting after.

You quoted my post questioning why somebody like himself would drink beer if it "all tastes like crap".

So I have told you what I think .......

Nothing personal, but i think Steele Reserve is brutal tasting beer!!!!!!!!
Yea it's cheap, but taste is terrible.
I put Steele in the same class as Mad Dog, Night Train, 20/20, and Cisco.
Same goes for the cheap ice beer, bad taste..........................
Tonight i tried a 2008 Smoked Porter from Alaskan Brewing Co.
It was a Gold Medal winner, but did not like it.
Still trying new beers all the time.
Roots is a great beer!

My regular is Coors Light in the bottle or draft at the bar. If Bud Light is cheap enough I'll pick it up.

I dont rate Steele Reserve very highly either but I would drink one over a Bud just cause it has flavour.

I do not drink beer. I think its disgusting. I only drank it once when I was 10 years old in 1986. My uncle (who was in his early 20s and drank at the time) slipped me a beer - I thought it was disgusting. When my mother found out he had given it to me, she went bezerk and about killed him. He stopped drinking 3 years later.

Its hip to be square.
