Try txakoli, though it's pretty hard to find as it is only made in a very small region of Spain. I had it while I was in Bilbao (Bizkaiko Txakoli), but have been able to order other variations from the U.S. If anyone is in Durham/Raleigh, A Southern Season will have it (last time I was there they had the rose, which is interesting).

Txakoli - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you can't find it, vinho verde from Portugal is similar.

Can Blau Montsant. Good stuff! About $17 a bottle, not a bad price for a GREAT wine.

My favorite is a dry Chardonay from Kendall Jackson. Reasonably priced too.

The past few weeks I've been loving Santa Ema wines. I started with their Reserve Cabernet, and liked it so much that I wanted to try some of their other wines. All of them have been excellent so far. Most are priced $8-$13/bottle, so they're very reasonably priced.

I've been on a Petite Sirah/Syrah kick for a while. I like Bogle Vineyard's as my inexpensive grocery story wine.

House Wine and Goats Do Roam red blends are also a fave.

I'm lucky to live in wine country
My favorite right now is a Tolosa Pinot Grigio 2006, we have a case of it that we got for a steal of a deal. Wines grown in the San Luis Obispo region of California are just out of this world... we get the heat in the day, the marine layer at night and mild weather basically all year round.

I recommend anything grown in Edna Valley to everyone I know
