Try using a sinus rinse, like NeilMed. Should be available at your local pharmacy. Use distilled water. Do not use tap water.

Do you have heat and AC duct work in the floors? Take off the grates, get a vac in there to clean them. Chances are there is years worth of dust and general trash in them, maybe even old pet food like what was in my daughters apartment. Doing that helped some.

I suspect that her reaction is dust plus it also could be off gassing, because like you, she has a lot of dollar store items that are sitting around. She's been too ill to do much there since moving in 2 years ago.

There was new carpet which also brought in carpet beetles plus the place is 100 years old so all sorts of insects come in. She's better when she's not there. She thinks the issue is a mite, I just think the house is very dusty from not being sealed well plus a dirt floor basement, she has air ducts that are broken, so I'm sure dirt is getting sucked up.

And you wonder why your nasal passages and breathing has been disrupted?

Clean up your apartment and remove the irritants. That's a first start.
cleaners could be part of the problem ... dont use strong smelling cleaning materials... or air fresheners... Has the flat had new flooring put in recently or been painted or decorated.. all these things cause allergic reactions for some people... some MDF furntiure too
...

It's definitely Covid. Didn't you get the memo? Anytime you have sniffles of any kind you need to get tested so that you don't spread it. Hopefully you have had at least four or five jabs/boosters so that you don't end up in the hospital or kill grandma.

Oh my. You may have contracted a brain fungus. I'd get that checked out ASAP.
