That's great! Please let me know, what your physician says. I would like to have any information, your doctor would give you for future reference. If you don't mind! I hope all goes well, with your daughter appointment.
Hey, I hear you on the "out of sight" bad eating habits. LOL Hubby/grandpa is the WORST here, too. He thinks nothing about buying a small bag of candy and a sugary drink , without realizing that IT IS NOT GOOD for them! Of course, mom/grandma bakes cookies, cakes and pies....so that's not much better, is it.
As for finding a "harmless" bump on your child, if it's the least bit warm to the touch or the skin looks the least bit mottled, it's best to address it right away with a very warm, Epsom salt poultice. If it's simply a bruise, you can do hot/cold compresses to speed the dispersion of blood and fluids from the leaky vessels. If it's an underlying infection of some sort, you will likely start to see an elevation in the area, as the "fluids" start looking for an escape route through the skin. My family gets hot/warm compresses for just about anything.
This might make me sound like a worry wort, but it's so much better to be safe than sorry. Again, you really only need to apply the warm compress once, then cover the area with plastic wrap and keep a heating pad on it. That way, you don't have to keep removing the pad.
I will keep that in mind. She sometimes has pimples so I waved it away the first day but kept an eye on it and listening to her when she said it hurt.
My dd used to get frequent boils but I always washed them with hydrogen peroxide and then put oil of oregano on. I get the good stuff from the health food store and don't bother with walmart stuff but I've even seen that work for deep infections--just not as quickly. She grew out of the tendency--it seems some folks are just more prone to this.
Since you posted in the Alternative section, I will note that boils indicate repressed anger.
Wonder what a 9 year old is so angry about? She's usually very happy go lucky, always wants kissies and hugs, always on my lap. Yes she gets moody at the time but she snaps back out of it in like 5 minutes. And what I mean by moody is when I say no she cannot watch television, or get on her about her homework, or chastise her about being respectful or being mindful of what she says or does.
The boil has gone down and is pretty much history! No hole either, and of course my baby is not in pain anymore. We are still under antibiotics, but this is the last week for them. We are still waiting to hear back from the hospital about the lab results.
Glad to hear it! I've been wondering how she was doing?
